Follow your passion. It's selfish not to

Sep 08, 2021

Hello hello beautiful soul!

How many times have we heard the phrase "follow your dreams" only to be taught that's not how you achieve success or security in this world?

How often are we shown the path to being rich is to work and save every dollar for 40 years, marry rich, or make a sex tape?

How infrequently are we shown that we can live a life that lights us up that goes against that?

Better yet, how infrequently are we told  we do not have to be rich in order to be happy?

Too often. Too many times. Not enough. Never.

I'm here to tell you, no, to beg you, to follow your passion.

A family member dismisses my business as "that follow your bliss shit." I tune them out because they don't understand (and I don't want to have the conversation again).

This is not about following your bliss. This is about following your purpose on Earth, the reason you are here in this time, the sole and soul mission you have.

It is not selfish to want a life you love. It is not selfish to want to wake up and do the thing that lights you up, that doesn't feel like work, to spend time caring for yourself, having fun, being happy, and simply being.

It isn't selfish. It's necessary.

Because guess what? That company you just spent 40 years working for, most likely doesn't even know your name without HR sending a list of people with work anniversaries. Even if they do, if you're fortunate enough to work for a company or a team that loves you for the person you are, if you still aren't following what lights you up, you aren't being yourself. Not fully.

And that's the one job we have. To be ourselves. Fully, authentically, unabashedly, always.

It is selfish for society to teach us only one path to success. It is selfish for people to tell you how to live your life. It is selfish for you to play small, hide yourself, and squeeze yourself into a box that was never meant for you.

Let me repeat that one. It is selfish for you to play small, hide yourself, and squeeze yourself into a box that was NEVER meant for you.

YOU deserve more than that. And you sure as hell deserve more from yourself. So why are you being selfish? Why aren't you showing up for yourself?

You are your biggest fan, your loudest cheerleader, your constant supporter. You have to be the one that decides enough is enough; it's time to follow that dream of yours.

Because if you don't, no one else will. No fairy godmother will come and push and pull and shout until you start that company, build that project, create that art piece. Your angels and guides will do everything they can, but YOU are the only one who can act-u-a-lly do it.

So. I'll ask again. Are you being selfish or are you allowing your light to shine as brightly as it can?

If you're in need of support to shine that light, I have 1 more one-on-one coaching spot left this month. Click the link below or message me with any questions. I know the world needs your light. We need the magic only you can create and bring into this world.

All the love and light,

Chrissy
